First week

Welcome to a journey full of adventure across Madeira!

Our 7-day itinerary will take you through not only beautiful landscapes but also unforgettable experiences.

In seven days, you will discover the most interesting places of the island, taste local specialties, and get acquainted with the rich culture of Madeira. This itinerary will show you Madeira in all its glory – from the breathtaking heights of the mountains to the mysterious depths of the forests.

You can use public transport to get to the places mentioned in our itinerary, but our recommendation would be to rent a car. Bus service is not always reliable and you might not be able to get everywhere. 

Day 1: PR8 - Ponta de São Lourenço

We will visit the easternmost point of the island, São Lourenço, famous for its unique natural beauty and panoramic views.

Day 2: PR9 - Santana and Levada do Caldeirão Verde

Join us to the northeast of the island, where you'll discover the picturesque area of Santana and walk along the famous Levada do Caldeirão Verde.

Day 3: Funchal and Monte

We will spend this day in the capital of Madeira, Funchal, and also visit the stunning viewpoint of Cabo Girão.

Day 4: Tour of the Northwest Part of the Island

We'll explore the northwest part of the island, including the beautiful beaches and volcanic pools in Porto Moniz.

Day 5: PR1 - Mountain Crossing from Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo

Prepare for a challenging but unforgettable trek from Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo, the highest peak of Madeira.

Day 6: Levada do Alecrim (PR6.2) and ALeváda do Alecrim (PR6)

Discover the magical Rabaçal, UNESCO-protected area with a walk following Levadas do Alecrim and 25 Fontes.

Day 7: Porto da Cruz, Larano, Boca do Risco, Machico

We end our week with a trip to Porto da Cruz and a beautiful walk back to Machica along the Larano trail via Boca do Risco.
